october 2-3
* saturday *
Chris Krizan of the POC; Skyline- chris did both pitches. I backed down from triple s. I was chimneying and about 12 feet up I was going to have to step back with my right foot and start to stem and I couldn’t commit to the move and bailed off a sling and piton.
* sunday *
Phil and Todd Turtle McCormick of POC;
P1: Conn’s East Direct (my second 5.8, my first Seneca 5.8) was really easy for the grade. Slightly bouldery first move and slightly tricky coming off the first big ledge, where you can clip a shut and keep going. No problems.
P2: Alcoa Presents… I threw down. It’s a beautiful crack. Gets pretty thin at one spot. Lou led it right after me and stepped on the piton- sucker!- but I didn’t!
Phil led High Test and Pollux. I got sick, which I determined with hindsight was dehydration. I didn’t try Pollux cuz I thought I might throw up.
