Day 13 – Lopez to Jones Island

Jones Island CMT camp is one of the most beautiful spots in the San Juan  Islands.  On the 13th day of the trip we paddled from Lopez Island around the north end of Shaw and across to Jones.  About 10 miles total, through some really pretty water.  Currents were helpful, and I got a bit of an assist from Apryle, as she tried out the tow belt for the first time.  My shoulder has been something of a concern, worried that it might spell trouble for later on the trip, but also hopeful that I’ll be able to stretch out the kinks and paddle through it.

Rough day mentally, on top of the shoulder, as we’re concerned that Apryle’s drysuit is lost in the US Postal system with no hope of recovery, and our finances back home are all messed up.  Just taking things one day at a time.

Tomorrow, weather willing, we’ll paddle on to Roche Harbor.  Hopefully the crossing of San Juan Channel will be smooth!
