Wed, May 6, 2009 ~ I peeked my head out of the tent around 6 a.m. and decided it was a go. Three crossings today – one across Puget Sound, and about 16 miles total to paddle. Lots of little shrimp boats just off the shore of our camp. Overcast all day – about 55 degrees and raining. Wind turned the ocean pretty big with waves piling up for our crossing from Meadowdale to Possession Point. We shot across as quickly as possible and rounded the point only to learn that we had overshot our camp.
We came back around the point through whitcaps and wind and found the campsite. We got our tent up (strange little campsite tucked btw two houses) as the sea turned increasingly evil and we hoped to not be weathered in at this site.
