Conundrum Hot Spring

For some reason, I got the itch to visit a natural hot springs in the summer of 2005. I checked out half a dozen books from the library, and we decided on Conundrum Hot Springs, outside of Aspen. Conundrum is a natural, undeveloped springs that requires a 10 mile hike to reach. It would be Apryle’s longest backpacking trip to date, and a great excuse for exploring a bit of Colorado. (At that point, we hadn’t been more than 1 hour from our apartment since moving to Colorado 5 months earlier.)

The hike was long, and gradually uphill the entire way. The spring was nice. Warm, beautiful scenery, and not tooo many naked ex-Mormon dudes to deal with…
